Unusual Combination of Lateral Condyle Mass Fracture and Olecranon Fracture in a Child: A Case Report

چکیده
Fractures of the lateral condyle and olecranon are two most common elbow injuries in pediatric age group. However, their simultaneous occurrence is rare. Proper understanding management these essential to prevent long-term complications. This case report presents a patient who suffered both fractures, with surgical intervention for non-surgical olecranon. A two-year-old female child was brought emergency department following fall from monkey bars, landing on her outstretched left arm. Clinical examination showed markedly swollen tender restricted range motion. No neurovascular deficit noted. Plain radiographs revealed displaced fracture an associated non-displaced fracture. Given displacement fracture, deemed necessary. The underwent open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) using Kirschner wires. being non-displaced, managed conservatively posterior splint. patient’s postoperative recovery uneventful. wires were removed at six weeks follow-up, active mobilization started. achieved full motion three months post-injury. At one-year she had no pain, restriction, or any deformity, confirmed complete union fractures. Simultaneous fractures children mechanism injury complex warrants high index suspicion injuries. Surgical conservative can yield excellent outcomes.

متن کاملLateral condyle fracture with concomitant postero-medial elbow dislocation in a child: a case report
Simultaneous combination of fracture of the lateral condyle and postero-medial elbow dislocation is a rare event and limited to few reports or case series in the literature. Rarity of the injury also necessitates judicious diagnosis and appropriate management to ensure optimal functional outcome. Various authors have reported about the condition including the management which mostly includes su...
متن کاملManagement of Olecranon Fracture in a Horse
Abstract: Case Description- Olecranon fractures are frequently encountered in horses especially in foals. External trauma due to kicks or falls is the most common cause of the fracture. Treatment modalities of olecranon fractures including prolonged stall rest and surgical reconstruction of the different types of fractures have been proposed with different outcomes. Clinical findin...
متن کاملOpen vertical sagittal fracture patella with fracture lateral condyle femur: approach to a rare injury
Patellar fracture is a relatively uncommon fracture especially the vertical sagittal type. In cases of high energy trauma injury, it is usually associated with fracture of ipsilateral distal femur or proximal tibia. However, the combination of vertical sagittal fracture patella and ipsilateral fracture lateral condyle is very rare. This necessitates judicious diagnosis and appropriate managemen...
